Clear Creek ISD has named its 2025 Spelling Bee Champion. Luke Nguyen, an eighth-grade student from Brookside Intermediate, won in the 14th round by correctly spelling the word “cayenne.”
This is Nguyen’s fourth time winning the District competition. He also won in fourth grade, sixth grade and seventh grade. John Li, a fourth grader from Brookwood Elementary, was the runner up. The next round of competition for Nguyen will be the 2025 Scripps Regional Spelling Bee hosted by Houston Community College on March 22. Top winners will then advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in May.
