Fort Bend County proudly hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, February 3, 2025, to celebrate the county’s second Neighborhood Tool Hub opening at Abe & Lizzie Daily Park, located at 4026 Nails Rd., Simonton, TX 77476. The event occurred from 2:00 to 2:30 PM, with the official ribbon-cutting at 2:15 PM.
Fort Bend County Judge KP George, Precinct 1 Commissioner Vincent Morales, Precinct 3 Commissioner Andy Meyers, local officials, community leaders, and residents attended the ceremony. This new Tool Hub is an innovative resource designed to provide tools and equipment that residents can borrow, empowering them to maintain their homes, complete community projects, and enhance their neighborhoods.
Precinct 1 Commissioner Vincent Morales emphasized the initiative’s importance: “The Houston Tool Bank’s Neighborhood Tool Hubs empower our community by providing access to tools and resources that enable individuals and organizations to build, repair, and improve the spaces around them. They foster growth, creativity, and collaboration by lending tools, making Fort Bend County a better place for all.”
Precinct 3 Commissioner Andy Meyers also highlighted the value of community collaboration: “Adding the new tool bank at Daily Park exemplifies how partnerships between civic-minded residents, dedicated non-profits, and Fort Bend County create lasting community assets. Thanks to Dr. Harold Daily and his family’s generous donation of nearly 70 acres along the Brazos River, we continue to enhance this park for our community. This tool bank is the latest example of how public-private collaboration builds stronger neighborhoods for Fort Bend County residents.”
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, attendees enjoyed guided tours of the new Tool HUB. The event highlighted the county’s commitment to community enrichment, sustainability, and neighborhood improvement.
