The 19th annual Pear Run supporting efforts of the Pearland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association is slated for May 3, and a call for registration, sponsors, and volunteers has begun.

The association is made up of volunteers who support the Pearland Police Department.

Its largest fundraiser of the year, the Pear Run, has raised more than $350,000 toward drones, safety equipment, and training.

“When officers feel appreciated that supports better policing in the community. That’s one of the things we all feel passionate about,” said Keith Williams of the Citizens Police Academy Association.

The U.S. Track and Field sanctioned event includes 5K and 10K routes, both beginning and ending at the park and partially closing Pearland Parkway.

On race day, May 3, pre-run activities will begin at 7 am. The 10K begins at 7:30 am, and the 5K starts at 8 am.

Registration, more information, and course maps are available at pearrun.com
