Gala brings Library to life once more

Date:

The Friendswood Library was transformed into a scene straight out of Arthurian legend during the 2025 Library Gala, Camelot Beckons, which proved to be a resounding success. The evening was filled with laughter, entertainment, and revelry, as community members gathered in support of the beloved institution.

Now in its fourth iteration, the fundraising gala is organized by the Friends of the Friendswood Library, a non-profit dedicated to enhancing library resources and programs. This year’s event transported guests to the world of King Arthur, complete with acrobats, bards, a live auction, and an appearance from King Arthur himself.

Proceeds from the gala will support the library’s newest initiative: the purchase of an automated library kiosk, which will provide 24/7 access to books and devices for check-out and return. The goal is to expand accessibility for Friendswood residents, ensuring that library resources are available beyond traditional hours.

Past galas have successfully funded important acquisitions such as the library van, which has allowed staff to bring library services into the community.

With another successful year in the books, the Friends of the Friendswood Library continue to grow their impact, bringing both innovation and imagination to local library services.
