Burglary
Mar. 19 (6:02 a.m.) A burglary was reported at Wendy’s located at 104 E. Edgewood Drive. When employees arrived, they found the drive-thru window broken and called the police.
Theft
Mar. 17 (10:38 a.m.) A boat was stolen from the banks of Cowart Creek at the end of Deepwood Drive. The vessel is described as a 1989 Sears Gamefisher, 11’ 8” aluminum Jon boat. It is painted camouflage and has carpeted decks with TXZ714116265.
Mar. 17 (12:07 p.m.) A white Toyota Highlander was stolen from a garage in the 2200 block of Stillhouse Hollow Lane at approximately 10:30 a.m. The suspect, a young, possibly light-skinned black male with facial hair, walked into the garage and drove out with the vehicle. The entire incident was captured on home video. Later the same day, the suspect used the victim’s credit card at La Marque Walmart. Investigators went to La Marque where they recovered items from the inside of the vehicle that were discarded by the suspect into a Walmart shopping cart. The vehicle is a white 2014 Toyota Highlander 4-door, TX PZG1167.
Mar. 17 (1:16 pm.) A resident in the 16100 block of Forest Bend Avenue believes that someone is stealing electricity from his home.
On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at approximately 3:06 AM, an officer made a traffic stop at the intersection of Dolan Springs Ln and Garden Sage Ln on a vehicle for traffic violations. Once stopped, the officer noted that all five occupants in the vehicle did not have seatbelts on, the vehicle smelled like marijuana, and a back passenger had a vaping device in plain sight. The officer confirmed that all of the occupants of the vehicle were under the age of 21 and should not legally be in possession of an e-cigarette device. Upon a further search of the vehicle, officers located two ski masks, drills, gloves, pry tools, flat head screw drivers, 2 vapes, drug paraphernalia, a box of ammunition, loose bullets, a car antenna that had been manipulated as a lock picking device, and 2 handguns hidden under the carpet of the vehicle. One of the handguns found had been reported stolen out of Baytown. Officers also located an autel programming device. These devices are often used as an auto diagnostic tool to reprogram and duplicate key fobs. All five occupants were taken into custody. The Galveston County District Attorney’s office accepted the following charges on Daniel Delfino Torres, 19 of Houston. Torres was charged with Theft of a Firearm and Unlawful Use of Criminal Instrument. His total bond was set at $20,000. The other 4 occupants were charged with Class C misdemeanors. Each individual had a bond set at $340.00.
Mar. 20 (11:57 a.m.) A black female wearing a red shower cap arrived at the area of Friendswood HEB after stealing $1,800 worth of merchandise from HEB in Manvel the day prior. The suspect entered the Friendswood HEB, wearing white checkered pajama pants and cropped gray short-sleeved shirt, a red shower cap, and a large black purse. Another suspect was with her and was described as a skinny black male wearing a black beanie, black long-sleeved shirt, light colored pants and black slides, carrying a brown messenger-style shoulder bag. Both suspects loaded make-up products into their bags and left the store without paying. They were seen driving a white Nissan Pathfinder.
Fraud
Mar. 18 (12:19 p.m.) A Friendswood man received a debit card from Frost Bank for a newly opened account that he did not try to open. He reported it to the fraud department and found they had already frozen the account. The bank advised that someone attempted to deposit a fraudulent check into the account.
Mar. 20 (6:30 p.m.) A Friendswood resident received a suspicious and unexpected check in the mail. The check contained her name and address and was drawn on a bank in Oklahoma. The check is being investigated as a forgery.
Criminal Mischief
Mar. 18 (9:57 a.m.) A car was vandalized in the 16500 block of Barcelona Drive. The victim has named a known suspect.
Assault
Mar. 18 (8:40 p.m.) An injury to a child report was taken from a mother whose 5-year-old child was visiting his father in Friendswood and returned home with visible bruising. The case will be investigated by CPS.
Mar. 18 (10:20 p.m.) A 25-year-old Texas City man is accused of threatening bodily harm to his ex-girlfriend, a Friendswood resident. A warrant is pending.
