Heritage Gardeners of Friendswood regularly meet on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 9:30 am at their 112 W. Spreading Oaks clubhouse.

The group is busy working on upcoming events from April 26-27.  They will hold their biannual National Garden Club (NCG) Flower Show, Splendor of Spring. The community is invited to see the exhibits in the Horticulture, Design, and Botanical Arts. The clubhouse with the show will be open from April 25 from 1-5 pm and April 26-27 from 9 am to 4 pm each day.  Admittance is free.

Horticulture has 16 different sections that will be on view. The Design Division has a “Heritage Spring” section with three classes: “Historic Harmony,” “Springtime,” and “A Pollinator Spring.”

Division III will involve Youth Exhibits, and participants are members of the Heritage Junior Master Gardener classes. Their theme is “Texas in the Spring.” They will also provide an exhibit, “Friendship Everywhere.”

Botanical Arts is Division IV and will offer photography under “Spring Gardening.” Three classes include “A Gardener’s Eye,”  “Spring Pollinators,” and “Gems of Spring.”

The show is under the direction of Heritage Gardener and Galveston County Master Gardener Kaye Corey with her assistants Aurora Ybarra and Molly Kistler.

A huge plant sale will also be underway from April 26-27 from 9 am to 4 pm. Club members are sharing plants from their gardens and the Briscoe Gardens at the clubhouse. New plants from nurseries are also added.

At the same time, a spring market is underway. Over 40 vendors will be spread out on three properties, including the clubhouse drive and two adjacent areas.

Tickets will be available for the Spring Garden Tour, which showcases private home gardens. Tickets for the tours, which run from 1-5 pm, are available now at the following businesses: Friendswood Chamber of Commerce, Friendswood Frame & Gallery, Silver Bee Boutique, Marrone Market, Phoenix Cleaners, Two Friends Gifts, Wild Birds Unlimited of Pearland, Friendswood Scoop Shop, Blue Goose Plant & House, and  One Glance.

Follow Heritage Gardeners on Facebook.

Huge Plant Sale will be at the Heritage Gardener clubhouse April 26-27.
