Plans already in works for Veteran’s Day

Date:

Plans are already underway for the 2025 Brazoria County Veterans Day Parade to be held November 11 in downtown Alvin.

According to John Jasso Sr., longtime Brazoria County Veterans Association president, organizers began meeting this month.

“For the past 26 years, we have had a Veteran’s Day Parade; Alvin hosted the first one back in 2002 and again in 2008,” Jasso told members of the Alvin ISD board on March 11.

Jasso approached the board to promote involvement in the parade. When the event began, he said, the county had 27,000 veterans.

“The last 26 years, we lost almost 3,000,” he said. “Veterans are dying every day without being recognized. As a Vietnam veteran, I know what it feels like when people overlook you.”

The November 11 parade begins at 11 am.
