Pearland ISD Artists Achieve Historic Milestones at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Auction

Pearland Independent School District is celebrating a remarkable achievement at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s annual School Art Auction. Out of over 30,000 entries from talented young Texans across approximately 130 school districts, Pearland ISD proudly saw 13 artworks selected for the prestigious auction, showcasing the exceptional talent within the district.

This year’s auction marked several historic firsts for Pearland ISD. All three high schools – Dawson, Pearland, and Turner – were represented in the auction for the first time. Additionally, two artworks from Berry Miller Junior High and Pearland Junior High West made it to the auction for the first time, a testament to the growing artistic talent at the junior high level. Notably, Katherine Xie from Dawson High School achieved the extraordinary feat of having her artwork selected for the auction for the fifth consecutive year.

The impressive auction results reflected the students’ exceptional talent and dedication, bringing in a total of $372,000.
