Report: Growth steady for Alvin ISD

Date:

An April report shows Alvin ISD remains a strong area for new housing, but the district won’t quite reach 36,000 students by the 2034-35 school year.

Currently enrolling about 29,000, the district is expected to grow by 585 students in the coming school year, Rocky Gardiner of Zonda Demographics told trustees at the April 8 meeting.

The latest forecast predicts Alvin ISD will have an enrollment of 33,092 in five years and just under 36,000 in 10 years. The district has 61 actively building subdivisions and 30 future subdivisions.
