Clear Creek ISD Celebrates Community MVPs at Annual Volunteer and Partnership Breakfast

Businesses, Cities and Civic Organizations
Honored as CCISD 2025 Partners of the Year

The voices of student leaders were the undisputed home run of the Clear Creek ISD 2025 Volunteer and Partnership Breakfast.

From the National Anthem, performed by Clear Creek High School’s Chloe Smith, to the elementary, intermediate and high school students who each shared with guests how leadership is driving their success, it was student voice that took the mound at the April 11 event.

With the return of baseball as the spirited backdrop for the District’s annual appreciation breakfast, CCISD named seven Community Partners of the Year, each championing The Leader In Me Program’s significant growth throughout the District, one of CCISD’s goals outlined in the Vision 2030 Plan. The Leader In Me is the youth adaptation of Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and is currently growing leaders in 15 CCISD schools and growing.

In her community impact report, Superintendent Dr. Karen Engle shared with guests other strategic goals coming into focus under Vision 2023, as well as a competitive scorecard which included news that CCISD made the Educational Results Partnership’s Honor Roll, is ranked second best place to teach in the Region, and that nine out of 10 people surveyed say they recommend CCISD to a friend, among other community points of pride.

“I have the honor of meeting informally with staff, parents and business leaders and I am reminded just how fortunate we are to be in this community that places great value in a World Class Education,” Engle said. “That is what we strive to offer every child. I hope you agree that our teachers and principals are hitting it out of the park every day.”

In a “post-game” press conference format, student leaders confidently fielded questions from adult leaders in the audience, then presenting partner representatives with baseball bats crafted by the Clear Creek High School Construction Technology students and teacher Stephen Hilliard.

The CCISD 2025 Community Partners of the Year include the City of Clear Lake Shores, the City of Webster, Clear Creek Education Foundation, Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital, A National Family Foundation, Rotary Club of Seabrook, Rotary Club of Space Center and Marathon Petroleum.

CCISD honored the following 2025 CCISD Campus Volunteers of the Year who demonstrate a tireless devotion to their school community. Each honoree was presented with a personalized baseball card featuring their home campus and mascot.
