Friendswood High School’s FFA program is celebrating a major achievement as three of its Career Development Event (CDE) teams have advanced to the state level for the first time in school history. The results were announced following contests held at Sam Houston State University and Texas A&M University’s Area III.

At the Texas A&M Area Contest, three Friendswood teams placed among the top contenders:

  • Entomology Team earned 6th place, securing a spot at State. Team members include Faith Jackson, Solisa Azar, Chaney Hagewood, and Isabella Punchard.
  • Horse Judging Team finished 5th overall and will also advance. Notably, Kenzie Browning placed 8th high point individual. The team also includes Katey Wiseman, Isabella Richards, and Ashlynn Ulekowski.
  • Veterinary Science Team captured 5th place, earning their place at the State contest. Abigail Griego, Rebekah Confair, Kate Matthews, and Cade Montgomery are team members.

Additional teams also represented Friendswood FFA with strong showings:

  • The Poultry Team placed 17th, with members Kate O’Brien, Brynn Glover, and Will Hallmark.
  • At the Sam Houston Area CDE Contest, the Ag Sales Team finished 8th, consisting of Jaxtin McCollum, Ben Seifert, Peyton McAshlan, and Tabitha Reifel.
