Friendswood Rotary Club Distributes 175 “Stop the Bleed” kits

Date:

The Friendswood Rotary Club recently completed a service project that involved purchasing and distributing 175 “Stop the Bleed” kits. These kits can stop life-threatening blood loss during an emergency and before medical help arrives.

The kits are to serve as an enhancement to the AED kits that are found in schools, churches, and nursing homes/assisted care facilities.

Someone who is severely bleeding can bleed to death in as little as 5 minutes.

Emergency kits should be available to schools to help ensure they have critical resources during emergencies.

The club distributed the kits to local churches, day care facilities, nursing home/assisted living facilities, and Friendswood High School.

Friendswood ISD honored their Teachers of the Year at Monday night’s Board Meeting. This year’s honorees are Melissa Sauceda – FHS, Courtney Adkins – FJH, Jennifer Quigley – Westwood Elementary, Alexis Young – Bales Intermediate, Amy Belluomini – Cline Elementary, and Rachel Bourgeois – Windsong Elementary.
