Pearland heads back to the Region III final for the fourth consecutive season. This year, the Oilers will face Atascocita in game one on Thursday, May 22nd at 7 pm. Game two will be Saturday, May 24th at 4 pm; if needed, game three will follow directly after. All games will be played at the University of Houston’s Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park.
Pearland junior pitcher Grant Shepherd delivers a pitch on Thursday’s 7-0 win vs the Lamar Texans. Shepherd had another stellar outing on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up no runs, just three hits, two walks, and registering six strikeouts. The Oiler offense gave him plenty of cushion by scoring five runs in the first inning and another two in the third inning. Junior Mitchell Araujo finished off the Texans in the 7th inning with three straight strikeouts to complete the shutout.
