City contracts update of water master plan

Date:

Pearland City Council on July 14 awarded a $555,434 contract to update the city’s Water Master Plan.

The update will include water demand projections, assessments of water facilities and analyses of existing and future systems. Pearland’s water master plan is typically updated every five years to meet growth needs, city staff said.

“It translates into what are our future needs for water,” City Manager Trent Epperson said. “One of the key things this provides when we get into capital projects and expansion, it helps identify what size lines and what capacity we need.”

The contract was awarded to locally based Civitas Engineering Group, the company that completed the last two updates to the plan.
