Pearland & Alvin students named National Merit semifinalists

Eleven students from Pearland ISD along with 10 Shadow Creek High students in Alvin ISD are semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

As semifinalists, they will compete for the National Merit Finalist standing and scholarships, which will be announced in the spring.

Semifinalists include Pearland High School’s Sarah Muhammad and Catherine Prowell, Turner College and Career High School students Jeremy Kass and Dawson High School students Tanishta Anbu, Andrew Boster, Nuhan Hasan, Stephanie Nash, Jerry Tong, Roy Wang, Amy Zhang and Ares Zhou.

In Alvin ISD, 10 students from Shadow Creek High School were named semifinalists: Arhan Ahuja, Amara Chukwumerije, An Minhngoc Dongchau, Jacob J. George, Lillian E. Gilbert, Karthik N. Kommineni,l Rushil Makker, Katelyn T. Nguyen and Vincent A. Pham.
