Visit Pearland seeks artists for PearScape relaunch

Date:

Visit Pearland is expanding its longstanding commitment to local arts and culture with the launch of the Visit Pearland Artist Roster, a new directory aimed at connecting artists with public art opportunities across the city. The roster is now open for applications and carries no application fee, offering emerging and professional artists an accessible pathway to future projects.

The Artist Roster will serve as a pre-qualified pool of creators considered for public art commissions, collaborations, sponsorships, and programs — including the upcoming relaunch of Pearland’s popular PearScape Program, known for its iconic fiberglass pear sculptures displayed throughout the city.

Visit Pearland encourages applications from artists who work in durable, outdoor-ready mediums and who are interested in public art installations. Residency in Pearland is not required; artists from across the Greater Houston region and neighboring areas are eligible to apply. The goal, organizers say, is to build a diverse, collaborative community of creators who contribute to Pearland’s growing cultural footprint.

Applications are submitted through Submittable, which requires a free account. Artists will be evaluated based on their submitted portfolios and areas of interest. The Visit Pearland team will review entries on a rolling basis.

Visit Pearland has supported numerous public art programs over the years, including the Pearland Mural Tour, Pearland Grand Arts & Eats, and the city’s PearScape Trail, where artist-designed pear sculptures have become a signature piece of Pearland’s identity. The upcoming reimagining of PearScape will expand the trail across the city and incorporate more artists than ever before.

Public art plays a vital role in shaping Pearland’s identity, enhancing visitor experiences, and strengthening the local economy. Expanding opportunities for artists aligns with the city’s vision of Pearland as a vibrant cultural destination.

Artists interested in participating can apply at VisitPearland.com/ArtistDirectory. For more information on Pearland’s arts and culture programs — including the PearScape Trail — visit VisitPearland.com/Arts.
