Shadow Creek opened the 2026 football season with a 24-14 non-district win over Summer Creek. The Sharks dominated Summer Creek through most of the first half, scoring all of their 3 touchdowns in the first quarter. Aden Starling scored first on a 22 yard pass from Tavis Coleman, while Brandon LaFell Jr scored on an 84 yard TD pass. Timothy Bingley added another touchdown on a 22 yard pass. Tavis Coleman was 19 of 29 for 323 yards and 3 touchdowns, tallying a QB rating of 137.6.
Summer Creek’s defense adjusted in the 2nd quarter, stopping Shadow Creek on multiple drives. The Sharks defense held tough through halftime. After the half, Summer Creek opened with Carter Jack replacing Noah Spinks at quarterback, with a more focused run game. The Sharks had difficulty stopping the Bulldogs run game, allowing 2 touchdowns in the 2nd half. Shadow Creek battled downfield late in the 4th quarter, where Nick Saenz kicked home a field goal to put the Sharks two scores ahead with less than 2 minutes to go. Kevin Jackson II sealed the win with an interception to give the Sharks possession in the remaining seconds.
Shadow Creek travels to Missouri City to take on Ridge Point (1-0) Friday.
