The Friendswood ISD Education Foundation (FEF) hosted its inaugural Mustang Market — New Teacher Shopping Day on October 20 at Target Bay Area in Webster, Texas, welcoming more than 50 new Friendswood ISD classroom teachers for an afternoon dedicated to supporting their classrooms.

Through Mustang Market, each new teacher received a $250 shopping spree to spend on classroom essentials at Target, helping them fund the items they need to set their classrooms up for success. The event was designed to invest in FISD’s newest educators while providing an extra boost of encouragement as they continue throughout their first year in FISD.

Beyond shopping, teachers enjoyed a few special surprises along the way. Mustang Market scratch-off tickets gave participants the chance to win custom Mustang Market cookies and other door prizes, and each teacher had the opportunity to wrap up their shopping experience with a complimentary Starbucks drink sponsored by MOTU.

By providing both practical classroom resources and an opportunity to feel valued and celebrated, Mustang Market reflects FEF’s commitment to celebrating and supporting educators throughout the school year. As needs evolve, initiatives like this help equip teachers with the tools they need to foster meaningful learning experiences for their students.

“We want our newest teachers to know they have a whole community behind them,” said Ashley Adair, Executive Director of the Friendswood ISD Education Foundation. “Mustang Market is a fun and meaningful way for us to provide teachers with tangible resources while showing our appreciation for the important work they do every day. We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors and community partners for helping bring this idea to life and making our first Mustang Market such a success.”

The inaugural event would not have been possible without the generous support of FEF’s sponsors. A heartfelt thank-you goes to Dr. Glenn Freedman, MOTU, and Robin and Craig Hall for their sponsorship and commitment to supporting Friendswood ISD educators and students.

FEF also extends its sincere appreciation to the Target Bay Area team for welcoming Mustang Market and helping bring this new initiative to life. Their support and hospitality helped make the inaugural event a success.

Through programs like Mustang Market, the Friendswood ISD Education Foundation continues its commitment to providing innovative learning opportunities and educational resources that empower FISD teachers and students to thrive.
