On August 4, 2020, Mark T. Lee, Jr. passed away peacefully. He was born Feb. 5, 1934, in Sayre, Oklahoma, to Mary Mar-cella Lee (Louton) and Mark Tony Lee, Sr.

Growing up, Mark ex-celled in sports, and upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  After the war, Mark attended Northwest Uni-versity where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and later completed his Master’s degree in Physics.

Mark’s career started with the Department of Defense in China Lake, CA, designing and testing rockets before moving to Houston to work on the Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle missions. He re-tired in 1993 after 30 years of service for NASA.

Mark had a love of animals, a good barbeque, classic cars, dog races and Gringo’s on 518. His quick-wit and kindness to strangers was well-known to all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary, his father, Mark Sr., and his daughter, Mary.

Survivors include his children John, Kenneth and Renee, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
