City of Pearland extends Health and Safety Order

Date:

At the recommendation of health consultant AM Trace the City of Pearland is extending its current health and safety policy order to continue until 11:59 p.m. on November 7.

While this situation is improving, COVID-19 continues to remain a threat to the health and safety of the City’s residents.

The health and safety order maintains that all commercial businesses in the City of Pearland that offer goods or services to the public must implement a policy requiring all employees and visitors over the age of 10 to wear a face covering.

Face coverings include professional-grade and homemade masks, scarves, bandanas and handkerchiefs.

Businesses must post their policy in a conspicuous location to provide notice to employees and visitors of these health and safety requirements. Business who fail to develop, implement, and post this order will result in a fine not to exceed $1,000 per violation.

In addition to the health and safety order, the City is also encouraging businesses and residents to continue social distancing and hand sanitizing.
