Charitable giving has been impacted in many ways by COVID 19. Alvin HOPE Charities has had to raise funds in a new way.

They traditionally host fundraisers throughout the year to help offset costs of their programs.

Alvin HOPE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community organization dedicated to providing assistance for low to mid income families. They are a grass-roots organization focused on helping their local community be a healthier, happier place. Run strictly by volunteers, they organize fundraisers, community-building events, and much more.

This year the organization is asking the community to give tax deductible donations to help them fulfill their goals in servicing the community area.

The funds will be used for  their Alvin HOPE Giving Tree, supporting lower income families with a Christmas Assistance Program, ages 0 – 18; their Medical Equipment Program, providing medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, adult diapers, and other medically necessary items for the un- or under-insured; Blessing Box Support, routine filling of the seven Blessing Boxes and two refrigerators located in Alvin.; Computers for Kids, refurbishing old CPUs and laptops and turning them into usable equipment for children to use do to COVID-19; and Birthday in a Bag, ensuring no child goes without on their birthday, ages 1 – 12.

To donate, go to their website at  https://alvinhope.com/.

“Your generous tax deductible gift will help us fund our mission to help those in need. Together, we can make a difference,” Brandi Bowers of Alvin HOPE Charities said.

Alvin HOPE Jr members work on stuffing a blessing box in the past with donations from the community. Once COVID 19 hit, donations to the charity changed  in how they are collected. The group is now asking for donations to keep their programs alive.
