Holiday events begin in Friendswood

The City of Friendswood is getting ready for the holidays with several events already in progress and several coming up.

The Christmas Fairy Trail Hunt began November 21 in Stevenson Park, with two new fairies this year. The holiday trail and map will be fun for children and their families to enjoy.

Santa’s mailbox had been delivered to Stevenson Park and children in the community need to know that letters will be picked up by Santa’s elves on December 2.

Wristbands for Santa in the Park amusement rides are on sale in advance now at the Parks and Recreation office in City Hall from 8 am to 5 pm. They will be offered through December 2 (City Hall will be closed November 24 and 25). Wristbands for children’s activities for Santa in the Park on December 3 are $10, children 2 and under are free.

Activities for the event will include the following: Snow hill, Face Painting, Amusement Rides, Rockwall, Mechanical Bull, Bungee Trampoline, Trackless Train, inflatables, and Petting Zoo. Free activities include Pictures with Santa, Christmas Fairy Hunt and Snow Flurries at the lighted arches.

The Gingerbread House contest began November 22. Check the City of Friendswood Parks & Recreation Facebook page for details.

The Holiday Lighted Christmas Trail begins  November 24  on Thanksgiving night in Stevenson Park. The trail will turn on nightly beginning at sunset through January 1, 2023. It is free to visit the trail.

On November 28 the HomeTown Bank of Friendswood’s Elf on the Shelf contest begins. The contest offers the community a chance to earn some prizes and free wristbands to Santa in the Park.

On December 2, 9, and 16  there will be Holidays in the Park. The community can enjoy the lighted trail along with music, food trucks and snow flurries in Stevenson Park on those particular Friday dates. This year there will be a movie in the park during the December 16 event.

The Flapjack Fun Run at Stevenson Park is December 3, 2022 beginning at 8 am. Register to participate at https://friendswood.com/flapjack.

In the afternoon on December 3, Santa in the Park will be held  at Stevenson Park from 3 to 8 pm. The Chamber of Commerce’s Lighted Christmas Parade will be held during this time also.
