FHS freshmen win awards at Houston Science, Engineering Fair

Four Friendswood High School freshmen were honored for their outstanding science fair projects at the Science and Engineering Fair of Houston Award ceremony February 18.

This year, SEFH had over 600 projects in 6th – 12th grades and over 900 students participating.

Ria Goel received first place Best Engineering Project- Senior Division- Alumni Club of MIT and the Science Explorer Award-Jacobs Engineering.

Charlie Tran was awarded second place Harris County Medical Society, first place

Medicine Health/Biomedical/Sciences- American Industrial Hygiene Association (Gulf Coast Section) and the Science Explorer Award- Jacobs Engineering.

Aayush Jetly received the Smiti Ghandi Research Star Award and Honorable Mention award Embedded Systems.

Shivam Gupta received the Smiti Ghandi Research Star Award, third pllace Creative Automation in Practical Situations-International Society of Automation-Houston Section and third place award Embedded Systems.

Patrick Rosenberg is the teacher for Charlie Tran, Aayush Jetly, and Shivam Gupta and Laura Peter is the teacher for Ria Goel.  Science Fair Coordinator at Friendswood High Schcool is Rebecca Clark.
