A coastal-wide cleanup for Texas is this Saturday in more than 20 locations, including Surfside Beach, Quintana Beach, Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston Island.
Scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, the cleanup is manned by volunteers with signup available at TexasAdoptABeach.org. Check-in on Saturday begins at 8:30 a.m. Needed are close-toed shoes, drinking water and hat. The program provides cleanup supplies.
The Adopt-A-Beach program began in 1986 and continues twice per year on the fourth Saturday in September and fourth Saturday in April.
