2023 FHS Distinguished Alumni Banquet set for Golfcrest

Four Friendswood High School graduates are being honored October 5 at the 2023 Annual Distinguished Alumni Banquet hosted by the Friendswood High School Alumni Association. The banquet will take place at Golfcrest County Club in Pearland.

The 2023 honorees are Cheryl Bouillion (Class of 1962), William (Bill) Gillespie (Class of 1976), Dan Gattis (Class of 1986) and Tony Hopkins (Class of 1994).

The community is invited to attend the event and celebrate the accomplishments these four have had since graduation.

Business attire is requested.

The banquet will be from 7 to 9 pm at Golfcrest County Club at 2509 Country Club Drive in Pearland.

The first distinguished alumni banquet was held in 2008 and founding recipients included Linn Eignus (1941), Anita Hill Griffon (1978), Larry Speck (1967), Larry Taylor (1978), and Honorary Alumna Dr. Myrlene Kennedy.

The banquet honored former graduates each year from 2008 to 2015. After 2015 it was held in 2018 and then again in 2021. The 2021 recipients included Melissa Edwards (1989), Scott Gordon (1990), Thad Roher (1986) and Dr. Myrlene Kenndy Honorary Alumna Anna Felts.

Currently, the awards are presented in October, every other year (in odd years) at the Annual Distinguished Alumni Banquet hosted in conjunction with FHS homecoming activities.

The Alumni Association recognizes FHS graduates who have demonstrated exemplary performance and made significant accomplishments in their professional career, or have made significant contributions in the area of philanthropy and/or public service.
