Pearland Independent School District welcomes Kelly Holt as its new Deputy Superintendent. The former Pearland ISD’s Executive Director of High Schools replaces Deputy Superintendent David Moody, who recently retired.
“I am honored to have been chosen as the Deputy Superintendent for Pearland ISD. I will work each day to build a community of support for our staff and students,” Holt said. “As a leader, I will be student focused, and relationship driven.”
With a combined 32 years in education, Holt has dedicated 17 of those to Pearland ISD. She spent the first fifteen years of her career as a Chemistry teacher in Deer Park ISD and joined the Pearland ISD team as an assistant principal at the former Pearland Ninth Grade Center, and subsequently as Dawson High School’s associate principal.
Holt was then promoted to Dawson HS’s principal, position in which she served for six years, before becoming Pearland ISD’s Executive Director of High Schools in 2021.
Holt looks forward to working with the administration, principals, staff and parents to meet the needs of Pearland ISD’s students and community.
“I want to help all students explore and discover their passions, develop their talents, and chase their dreams,” she said.
Holt holds a master’s degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Houston and a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from Houston Christian University. As an administrator in Pearland for the last 17 years, she strives to follow the district’s vision and empower, inspire and develop courageous, confident individuals who excel in a global society.
“I believe our motto ‘Build Pearland Proud’ is what I will use as my guide,” she said. “As a teacher and administrator, I have always worked to empower and inspire all students to succeed.”
