Parks offers camping for families

Pearland Parks and Recreation is offering an overnight “Family Camping Experience” on Nov. 17-18 at Independence Park.

Described as “the perfect first overnight adventure for families looking to get into camping,” the program takes place in an outdoor environment that is partially lit, with parking access, running water, and restrooms, plus information on how to set up a campsite, leave no trace and camping must-haves.

S’mores and breakfast are included. The campout event is 5:30 p.m. Nov. 17 to 8:30 a.m. Nov. 18. Fee is $20. For information, call 281-412-8900 or visit parks.pearlandtx.gov.
