The Pearl Theater has announced a first-ever short film festival for young filmmakers ages 13 to 18.
Coordinators of the Pearl Theater ShortFlix Film Festival say it is being launched to add another outlet for artistic expression and storytelling to the community theater’s offerings.
Films up to 12 minutes long must be submitted online along with a $10 entry fee before Dec. 20, and winners will be notified on Jan. 1. Winning films will be screened Jan. 12-14.
Categories are documentary, fictional narrative, and animated narrative works.
Sponsorships for the Shortflix Film Festival range from $500 to $5,000 for the festival presenting sponsor.
