Heritage Gardeners to host whimsical speaker

Date:

Tonya Richardson

Gardener Tonya Richardson will speak on Gardening with Whimsy, Art, and Upscale at the Heritage Gardeners’ meeting on January 4 at their clubhouse at 10 am. Meet and Greet begins at 9:30 am. Anyone interested in gardening is invited to attend.

Richardson might be familiar to many in the area since her backyard has been on the Heritage Gardener Spring Garden Tour. Her shed was a huge hit, and many people visited her yard during the tour. They were delighted to see spheres on rods popping up among large-leafed plants. On closer look, the colorful spears were bowling balls recycled for garden art.

The entire year was filled with whimsical, repurposed items that delighted their viewers.

Richardson will share photos of the items and discuss ways you can add whimsy to garden areas and homes.

She joined Heritage Gardeners in 2022 and has actively participated in the club’s many events.

Anyone interested in hearing Richardson or learning about gardening is invited to attend the meeting. The speaker will begin at 10 am. The business meeting for the club will start at 11 am. The clubhouse is located at 112 W. Spreading Oaks in Friendswood.
