Nonprofit covers spay/neuter for shelter

Date:

Adoptable animals at the Pearland shelter are receiving free spaying and neutering services courtesy of K-9 Angels Rescue, a nonprofit serving the greater Houston area.

It is the first collaboration between K-9 Angels, the City of Pearland, and the Shari D. Coleman Adoption Center. The project is designed to increase the likelihood that animals will find homes.

“Ensuring that these animals are spayed or neutered not only contributes to their health and well-being but also plays a crucial role in controlling the pet population and reducing the number of homeless animals in our community,” said K-9 Angels co-founder Mary Tipton.

The initiative resulted in spaying and neutering 72 animals at the shelter on Dec. 10.
