Keep Friendswood Beautiful invites residents to partake in its annual Arbor Day celebration. Scheduled for 8:00 am on January 20, the event will see the distribution of free trees in an effort to enhance local greenery and community engagement with nature.
Available tree species include Live Oak, Red Oak, Red Maple, and Lacebark Elm — selections known for their beauty and resilience, contributing to both aesthetic and environmental value.
The initiative is an opportunity for Friendswood residents to contribute to a greener cityscape and enjoy the lasting benefits of tree planting.
Residents interested in claiming a tree must provide proof of residency, such as a water bill or driver’s license. Trees will be distributed while supplies last, emphasizing the first-come, first-served nature of the event.
For additional information or inquiries, community members are encouraged to reach out to the Friendswood Parks & Recreation Department. They are available via phone at 281-996-3220 or by email at rec@friendswood.com.
This Arbor Day, the streets of Friendswood are set to grow a little greener as the community comes together to plant for a brighter, more sustainable future.
