Friendswood Mustangs Win District 18-5A Swim Meet; Twelve Records Broken by Mustangs

The Friendswood High School Swim Team dominated the District 18-5A Swim Meet, winning over five area schools and breaking twelve team and pool records.

FHS has 24 swimmers advancing to the 5A – Region 5 Swim Meet on February 9-10 at Don Cook Natatorium in Sugarland. The top 6 places per event at District advanced to the Region Competition: Kate Duggleby, Olivia Esbeck, Brooke Hubenak, Edi Jakob, Andi Jeanes, Kk LeBlanc, Paige McCray, Emmie Ratcliff, Peyton Robbins, Julia Rupp, Lauren Tillman, Taylor Welch, Noah Givens, Nick Hardt, Nate Henderson, Hayden Holcomb, Lane Jordon, Tony Laurito, Caleb Livesay, Shiv Malkani, Marshall Odom, Paul Podrebarac, Jovan Stojkovski, and Talon Welch.

Marshall Odom and Kk LeBlanc were awarded the male and female “Swimmer of the Meet,” respectively. The boys’ team “Coach of the Year” award went to FHS Head Coach Craig Sikkema, and the girls’ team “Coach of the Year” was awarded to Angleton Coach Ginger LaRaia.
