Friendswood High School BPA Team Shines at State Competition

The Business Professionals of America (BPA) team from Friendswood High School showcased their talent and skill at the state competition held in Corpus Christi, achieving remarkable success under the guidance of their teacher, Lisa Sargent.

The team’s hard work and dedication were evident as several students secured top positions in their respective events, earning them a spot at the national competition.

Maliha Kahn excelled in Fundamental Accounting, securing 2nd place and qualifying for the national competition. Jeffrey Otto followed closely in Advanced Accounting, achieving 3rd place and also advancing to nationals.

Jackson Skeele demonstrated his expertise in Personal Financial Management by finishing 2nd, while Ria Rosete earned a 5th place in Fundamental Word Processing, both qualifying for the national level.
Jacob Mayfield’s proficiency in Advanced Word Processing earned him 3rd place.

Thaddeus Mayo’s outstanding presentation skills led to a 3rd place in Presentation Individual, with both students moving on to the national competition.

Vivian Fischer and Siena Smith also performed impressively, placing 7th in Fundamental Desktop Publishing and 8th in Business Law and Ethics, respectively, showcasing the depth of talent within the team.

The national qualifiers are set to represent Friendswood High School at the prestigious national BPA competition in Chicago, scheduled for May 10-14.
