Pearland Junior High West Students Named Do the Write Thing Finalists

Date:

Two Pearland Junior High West students qualified as school finalists in this year’s “Do the Write Thing” Challenge in Houston/Harris County.

Numbering among the youth anti-violence program school finalists are seventh-grader Adrian Estala and eighth-grader Tina Lutz.

Through the challenge, students examine the causes of violence and react in writing, explaining what they think should be done to build a healthy society.

Students also commit to making a difference personally through rational thinking and behavior.

Every year, thousands of students from Houston-area school districts write about ending the chain of violence. The “Do the Write Thing” Challenge is affiliated with the National Campaign to Stop Violence.
