School Board Honors FHS Wrestling and Boys Tennis Doubles Teams

In recognition of athletic excellence, the Friendswood Independent School District (FISD) Board of Trustees honored two outstanding teams from Friendswood High School (FHS) at their recent meeting. The FHS Wrestling team and the Boys Tennis Doubles team received the prestigious #CelebrationofExcellenceAward, celebrating their remarkable achievements in recent competitions.

The Friendswood Wrestling team was recognized for their exceptional performance at the National Championships last month. The athletes demonstrated extraordinary skill and determination, bringing home medals and making their school and community proud. “Proud of these incredible athletes and their many accomplishments,” the district’s statement read, capturing the sentiment of the entire Friendswood community.

Additionally, the Boys Tennis Doubles team, consisting of Yan Terekhin and Michael Lanni, was celebrated for their impressive third-place finish in the State tournament. Their teamwork and perseverance throughout the season culminated in this outstanding achievement, earning them well-deserved accolades from the board and their peers.
