After sweeping regional and area competitions, the Dawson High School (DHS) wind ensemble won the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) state honor band competition in July. Under Aaron Brown’s direction, the varsity band finished the highest that DHS has ever placed in 6A.
“The Dawson wind ensemble worked tirelessly to get to where they are and I am beyond proud of their achievements,” Tom Bell, Pearland Independent School District fine arts director, said. “I look forward to them having a great Honor Band concert.” The Dawson High School, wind ensemble participants, include:
