Burglary

Aug. 10 (2:50 p.m.) A possible bank jugging is being investigated. A worker in the 500 block of Southfield believes he was followed from Chase Bank on Pearland Parkway in Pearland. The victim stopped at a restaurant, picked up food for other workers, and began work. A home surveillance camera captured a black SUV parked next to the victim’s vehicle. An envelope full of cash was stolen. Later, the suspect vehicle was found to be a black 2022 Mitsubishi rental car.

Fraud

Aug. 7 (10:29 a.m.) A Friendswood woman became the victim of an email phishing scam after opening an email that appeared to be from PayPal, but ended up being a scammer who conned her into making a series of gift card purchases to receive a reimbursement check and allowed the scammers access to her bank account.
Aug. 9 (10:39 a.m.) A local bar and grill reported a check forgery. A business check was duplicated and cashed.
Aug. 9 (2:18 p.m.) A Friendswood man reported that four forged checks were passed on his bank account. All four checks were made out to the same person.

Assault

Aug. 10 (5:37 p.m.) A 50-year-old Friendswood man faces Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon charges after he approached and threatened a Texas-New Mexico lineman in the 1100 block of Greenbriar Drive. The suspect retrieved a pipe from his vehicle and threatened bodily harm to the lineman. When officers arrived at the suspect’s home in the 1300 block of Oak Hollow, he refused to open the door. A warrant is pending.

Driving While Intoxicated

Aug. 9 (4:17 p.m.) A 76-year-old Angleton man was involved in an injury crash at the intersection of W. Parkwood Avenue and San Joaquin Parkway. He rear-ended another vehicle and was found to have a bottle of whiskey and an open container of alcohol. He was transported to a local hospital and will face charges when a warrant is issued.

Other Alcohol Offenses

Aug. 7 (10:50 p.m.) Officers responded to a disturbance at The Reserve at Autumn Creek apartments located at 3102 W. Bay Area Blvd. A 16-year-old Seabrook boy was taken into custody and charged with Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor. A 16-year-old League City girl was issued a citation for Minor Consuming Alcohol and was released on scene to her mother. A second 16-year-old League City girl refused to provide her parents’ information, was transported to the police department, issued a citation for Minor Consuming Alcohol, and her parents picked her up from the police station. Other minors on scene were released to the custody of their parents without charges. Officers were provided information on the source of the alcohol.
Found Property

Aug. 11 (5:34 p.m.) A wallet, iPhone, bank card, and baggie of cocaine were found at the intersection of West Blvd and Falcon Ridge.

Other Incidents

Aug. 9 (5:29 a.m.) Officers responded to a man with a gunshot wound in the 15500 block of Wandering Trail. The victim was highly intoxicated and uncooperative but did eventually agree to be transported to the hospital to treat the gunshot wound he suffered to his foot. The injury allegedly occurred at an after-hours bar in Houston.

Arrests

A male suspect, 37, of Friendswood, was charged with Driving While License Invalid.
A male suspect, 46, of Santa Fe, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
A male suspect, 54, of Friendswood, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated – 3rd of more and Unlawfully Carrying a Weapon.
A female suspect, 31, of Angleton, was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and No Insurance.
A female suspect, 44, of Missouri City, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1.
A male suspect, 38, of Houston, was charged with Failure to Identify-Fugitive. He had an outstanding Harris County warrant for DWI.
