Downtown Friendswood Scarecrow Contest Returns for 2024

Date:

The Friendswood Downtown Scarecrow Contest is back for 2024, inviting all businesses, individuals, families, and non-profit groups to participate in this beloved community event.

Organized by the Friends of Downtown Friendswood Association (FDFA), the contest officially kicks off on October 5, 2024, with scarecrows of all shapes, sizes, and themes to be displayed throughout Friendswood’s downtown district.

Jennifer Whitley, the event organizer, encourages the entire Friendswood community to get involved. “The FDFA invites ALL Friendswood Businesses, Individuals, Families, and Non-Profit Groups to participate in the 2024 Friendswood Downtown Scarecrow Contest beginning October 5, 2024.”

The FDFA, known for its efforts to promote local businesses and community involvement, sees the scarecrow contest as a fun way to showcase the creativity and spirit of the Friendswood Downtown District. Whitley added that even Friendswood businesses located outside the downtown area can join in the fun, as they will be assigned a high-traffic, visible location within the downtown district.

Scarecrows will line the streets of downtown Friendswood for the duration of the contest, transforming the area into a festive display. It’s a chance for businesses and residents alike to engage with the community in a lighthearted, creative way.
