Arrest made in Gun Theft at City Facility

On October 9, 2024, Juston Smith, 22, of Houston, was charged with Theft of a Firearm. Smith was identified as the suspect responsible for stealing a firearm out of a City of Friendswood employee’s vehicle while it was parked at the City of Friendswood Public Works Facility on Blackhawk Blvd on October 2, 2024. Officers obtained video camera footage, identified Smith and the vehicle associated with the burglary. Smith was found at a motel in South Houston. In addition to the Theft of a Firearm charge, Smith was wanted on felony warrants in Harris County and Brazoria County. The stolen firearm was recovered and returned to the owner.
