The Friendswood ISD Education Foundation (FEF) held its annual Sporting Clays Tournament on Friday, October 4, at the Greater Houston Gun Club, welcoming over 250 guests and achieving a record-breaking fundraising total of over $130,000. This year’s tournament, a testament to the community’s strong support, featured 63 teams and welcomed new sponsors and contributors.

“It’s truly inspiring to see our community come together to rally around FEF’s mission for FISD students and teachers,” FEF Executive Director Ashley Adair said.
Participants enjoyed a lunch underwritten by Frost Bank, followed by a competitive round of shooting on the action-filled clays course, thanks to Title Sponsors R-C Ranch, Shady Grove Fertility Houston, and Traylor Mechanical. Fun activities such as Gun Powder Golf and a team flurry, sponsored by Ring Enterprises, kept attendees engaged throughout the day.

“The event was great, seeing how many people were here today. Full tables and so many smiles. It’s great to have everyone contributing to the Foundation.” Event Chair and FEF Director Nick Gaido said.

Raffle excitement ran high, with over 630 tickets sold. Lucky winners walked away with prizes including a Whiskey Package, Turtlebox Gen 2 Speakers, Rancher’s Classic Box, and DeWalt Package, thanks to contributions from Magnuson Ace Hardware, Good Ranchers, and FEF’s Board of Directors and Sporting Clays Committee. A squares board for two fishing and hunting trips to Lake Charles and Hall’s Bayou Ranch, donated by Captain Bruce Baugh, The Adam & Natalie Ring Family, The Baker Family, and Rod and Chelsea Chase, raised over $9,000. The day’s highlight was the gun drawing for a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon The Morris Family provided, bringing in over $14,000 in ticket sales.

“This is an amazing event for our community. Just look at all the people here who are supporting our kids. It’s a moving experience for our team and I to see this level of support for Friendswood ISD,” said FISD Superintendent Thad Roher.
Additionally, participants enjoyed beverages sponsored by Armadillo Blast Coat, and commemorative Yetis, sponsored by Universal Plant Services, were awarded to the top three teams, the last-place team, the team flurry champions, and the Gun Powder Golf winner.

All funds raised will support FEF’s mission to support FISD and enhance student and teacher experiences by providing innovative and engaging learning opportunities. FEF extends its heartfelt thanks to top sponsors and underwriters, including R-C Ranch, Shady Grove Fertility Houston, Traylor Mechanical, Armadillo Blastcoat, Reactor Resources, LLC, Ring Enterprises, Universal Plant Services, Frost Bank, Good Ranchers, Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union, InTents Services, Kid City USA Friendswood, Kinsey Management, Rockwater Insurance Group, Stanfield Properties, Alan & Beth Stanfield, Texas First Bank, The Banfield Family, The Erickson Family, The Handy Family, and The Vidosh Family for their invaluable contributions.
