Burglary

Oct. 22 (6:41 a.m.) Tools were stolen out of a work truck parked in the 17100 block of Barcelona Drive. The driver parked the vehicle at 5:00 p.m. on October 21st. At first, he did not notice anything missing. When he reached I45, he noticed the compartment doors on the bed swing open. It was at that point, he realized that power tools were missing from the compartment. The stolen tools were Milwaukee brand and included a roto hammer, a band saw, impact drill, drill, Sawzall and replacement batteries.
Oct. 22 (9:49 a.m.) A vehicle burglary was reported at the Baywood Apartments located at 5025 FM 2351. The victim parked his vehicle at 5:30 p.m. on October 21st. When he left for work the next morning, he found entry into his truck through the driver’s side door and a toolbox that was pried open. The items stolen included a heavy-duty floor jack, Hilti hammer drill, DeWalt drill, Ryobi Sawzall, PAT nail gun, Echo chain saw and numerous hand tools. A witness observed a light-skinned Hispanic male using a crowbar to get into the truck. The suspect left in a white, early 200 model SUV with a dent on the driver’s side bumper.
Oct. 23 (5:51 p.m.) The owner of a rental property in the 16400 block of Blackhawk Blvd arrived at his home to find the front door unlocked. Once inside the residence, there was visible damage and fixtures removed from their original location.
Oct. 24 (1:50 p.m.) A burglary was reported at an unoccupied home in the 16400 block of Paint Rock Road. Two paint sprayers were stolen. Surveillance video has helped to identify a suspect.
Theft

Oct. 21 (12:48 p.m.) The Rowsey Group reported the theft of a signage from a construction site at the intersection of FM 528 and Blackhawk Blvd.
Oct. 24 (10:16 a.m.) A Friendswood man shipped a gun to the gun manufacturer for repairs via UPS on August 12, 2024. The shipment made it from League City to Houston. After that, there were no other notifications, and it did not arrive at its intended destination.

Criminal Mischief

Oct. 24 (8:30 a.m.) An apartment at the Bridgestone Apartment complex, 4949 FM 2351, was left with holes in the walls, a door, and a window. The residents were evicted and damaged the apartment prior to leaving. The three former tenants have been identified for criminal charges.

Fraud

Oct. 21 (8:33 a.m.) A home-based business had its checking account compromised when someone hacked into their bill pay system and initiated a withdrawal. Fortunately, the fraud was detected prior to any funds being withdrawn.
Oct. 22 (2:25 p.m.) A Friendswood man reported two fraudulent charges withdrawn from his checking account. Both charges were online purchases through Priceline.
Oct. 23 (4:20 p.m.) A Pearland man was scammed out of $75 from an unknown person who was pretending to be the landlord for a home in the 1500 block of Regency Court.
Oct. 23 (5:10 p.m.) A Friendswood woman’s uncle used her personal identifying information to rent an apartment in Arizona. She discovered the fraud when she received a debt collection letter from the apartment complex.
Oct. 24 (6:18 p.m.) A Friendswood woman received several emails indicating that her Facebook account was hacked. She searched the internet for the Facebook Help Center and called the phone number provided. She was instructed to download an application to her phone which provided remote access to her phone’s contents, and she was instructed to purchase a Target gift card in order to “unhack” her Facebook account. She purchased the Target gift card as well as other gift cards requested by the hacker.
Oct. 26 (3:48 A.M.) A 19-year-old Friendswood man was blackmailed after he was recorded engaging in a sex act on a video dating site called pinkvideochat.com. The victim sent the payoff via BitCoin to stop the video from being released to family and friends.

Threats

Oct. 26 (6:22 p.m.) A 63-year-old Friendswood man was issued a citation for Threats. He was involved in a road rage incident in the 15600 block of Pennystone Court.

Traffic

Oct. 27 (5:48 p.m.) An officer had a lane blocked in the 300 block of N. Friendswood Drive investigating a three-vehicle crash and waiting for a tow truck to arrive. The parents of one of the drivers involved in the crash arrived on scene. As the mother tried to cross the roadway, she was struck by a vehicle. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries. All witnesses on scene, including the driver of the vehicle that hit her, remained on scene and provided statements. No charges are expected.
