Two Pearland ISD students were recognized for their exceptional artwork at the Pearland City Council meeting on Monday evening. The students, Alyana Crichlow and Evelyn Chang were honored for their winning submissions to the City of Pearland’s 2024 Arbor Day Poster Contest.
The annual contest aims to raise awareness of trees’ role in our environment, economy, and overall quality of life. Students from surrounding school districts were invited to participate, with submissions judged on originality, creativity, neatness, and the ability to convey the theme, “Growing Together: Trees and Communities.”
Alyana Crichlow, a student at Silvercrest Elementary, secured third place in the K-2 category. Evelyn Chang, from Berry Miller Jr. High, claimed first place in the 6-8 category.
Pearland ISD and the City of Pearland congratulate these young artists on their impressive achievements. Their talent and dedication to environmental awareness serve as an inspiration to the community.
