The Clear Creek Education Foundation’s Spring Prize Patrol traveled across the district, surprising teachers with grants that will fund innovative programs

The 2024 Clear Creek Education Foundation SurPrize Patrol was in full gear on November 8, surprising campuses across Clear Creek ISD, awarding $109,103.78 in special innovative grants.

The grant program’s purpose is to fund innovative projects that impact student learning.  “Special Innovative Grants (SIGs) play a vital role in advancing creative teaching initiatives across our district. By awarding up to $50,000 per grant, we empower educators to bring transformative projects to life, driving student engagement and excellence in learning,” stated Melinda Mintz, CCEF Chairperson. Teachers are given the opportunity to apply for SIGs each summer.

Programs funded included: aerial coding league and an electronic air rifle sport range for Clear Lake High School; advanced CNC manufacturing for CCISD Robotics; cultural immersion through technology in Spanish classrooms for Space Center Intermediate; Robotics for North Pointe Elementary; CASE Advanced Animal Science and Child Development Real Care Simulators for Clear Brook High School. Grant funding is made possible by the hard work of the CCEF Board of Directors, Quarter Century Partners, and community partners across Clear Creek ISD.

Since its founding in 1992, CCEF has been a nonprofit dedicated to building public education in Clear Creek ISD through grants and programs that empower every student to achieve academic and personal success. CCEF has contributed over $5.3 million to CCISD for innovative programs in the classroom.
