Shadow Creek’s Lady Sharks lost 3-1 to the Stratford Spartans on Friday evening in the Regional Finals of the 2024 UIL Texas Volleyball State Championship playoffs in Conference 6A D2.
The Lady Sharks finished their season at 35-12 and progressed further in the playoffs than any volleyball team in school history.
Senior MH/OH Mackenzie Collins, ranked 88th nationally and a Texas A&M commit, had an outstanding season with 595 kills, averaging 4.6 per set with a hit percentage of .335.
Senior L/DS Kelly Kelsick led the Sharks this season in receptions with 449, an average of 3.4 receptions per set and 10.0 receptions per match. Kelsick has committed to the University of North Dakota.
Sophomore Kennedy Proctor had 118 blocks for the season, while junior Lauryn Wiley had 491 digs, an average of 3.9 per set, for the season. Junior Bella Law was a key player for the Lady Sharks, ranking 21st nationally in assists with 1,304 on the season.
