School boards in Alvin and Pearland ISDs on January 14 approved their districts’ respective calendars for the academic year that begins next fall.
Both districts have spring break the second week in March, and both are dismissed for the summer before Memorial Day.
Pearland ISD calendar
Next fall, the first day of school will be August 13, a fall break for students Oct. 13-14, and winter break Dec. 22-Jan. 2.
Spring break is March 9-13, and also included for 2026 is an Easter Break of April 3-6.
“We’ve had (Easter break) before and that is something that calendar committee went through where we did have enough days and they enjoyed that where it was a longer holiday break,” PISD Superintendent Larry Berger.
The calendar is developed by an advisory calendar committee, considering community input and campus voting.
Alvin ISD calendar
Trustees in Alvin ISD approved a school calendar that has new students coming to campuses starting class on August 11, with all other students starting school on August 12.
Also researched by the committee with input from parents, students, and teachers, the Alvin ISD calendar includes a weeklong fall break, Oct. 13-17, designed to align with the Brazoria County Fair. Winter break is Dec. 22-Jan. 6, and Spring Break is March 9-13.
