Date:

Catina Eggleston, 52, and Everette Cooksey, 60,

The Friendswood Police Department has identified suspects in two recent wallet thefts at local grocery stores, leading to fraudulent credit card use. On October 3, 2024, an elderly woman shopping at HEB, 701 W. Parkwood Avenue, discovered her wallet was missing at checkout. Shortly after, unauthorized transactions were made at Walgreens. Surveillance footage showed a male suspect stealing the wallet before leaving in a black Nissan Rogue driven by a female accomplice.

A second theft occurred the same day at Kroger, 3135 FM 528, where another victim’s wallet was stolen and later used for fraudulent purchases at multiple stores in Houston. Investigators confirmed the same male suspect was responsible for both incidents.

Through surveillance and investigative efforts, detectives identified the suspects as Catina Eggleston, 52, and Everette Cooksey, 60, both of Chicago, IL. The pair are linked to an organized crime group known for pickpocketing and credit card fraud nationwide. The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office has issued arrest warrants for Felony Credit Card/Debit Card Abuse Elderly for both and Felony Theft for Cooksey. Further charges are pending in Harris County.
