Pearland ISD Receives Teacher Incentive Allotment

Date:

Pearland ISD’s Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designation system has received full approval from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), marking a significant milestone for the district.

Made possible by the passage of House Bill 3 during the 86th Legislative Session, the TIA provides a pathway for high-performing teachers to earn six-figure salaries while enabling districts in rural and high-needs areas to recruit and retain highly effective teachers on their campuses.

165 Pearland ISD teachers are expected to earn a designation and allotment funds through the district’s TIA system. These designations, valid for five years and noted on the teacher’s certificate, will provide additional compensation. The amount of funding a designated teacher receives will depend on their designation level and the socioeconomic factors of their campus.

“I’m immensely proud of our staff’s hard work and dedication in achieving this TIA designation,” said Pearland ISD Superintendent Dr. Larry Berger.  “TIA participation is voluntary, and we’re honored by the TEA’s validation. This program enables us to provide well-deserved additional compensation to our exceptional teachers who consistently go above and beyond for our students.”

Individual teachers will receive preliminary raw data by the end of February. By mid-April, the district will be notified of exact dollar amounts and asked to verify data prior to communication. In mid-May, the TEA will officially notify the district and the teachers who have earned one of three designations: Recognized, Master, or Exemplary.
