CCISD Celebrates 43rd Annual Livestock Show & Auction

Date:

The tradition of hard work, dedication, and community spirit. The 2025 Auction, held on January 23, 2025, raised more than $202,000 to support FFA students and the program.

“Our vision in Clear Creek ISD is to empower every student with a world-class education that ignites passions and fuels endeavors,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Karen Engle during the Auction. “I cannot think of a better event that brings that vision to life. From parents who have ignited passions in their children for years and our amazing teachers, to our buyers here tonight who are fueling the student’s endeavors, thank you on behalf of CCISD.”

Held at the CCISD West Agriculture Barn, more than 200 students enter the Show hoping to be named a Grand Champion in the livestock and non-livestock categories. Typically a two-day event, this year’s show was condensed into one day due to a historic snowstorm in Houston.

“Our families and CCISD staff adapted with grace,” said Career and Technical Education Director Dana Morgan. “Departments across the district—from Maintenance, Technology, and Security to Communications and C3 Studios—worked seamlessly with our team and FFA teachers to ensure a successful Show and Auction despite the schedule change.”
Demi Starks, a junior from Clear Creek High School, took home the highest sale price of the night for her Reserve Champion Steer, which brought in $11,000 from JG Industrial Contractors. The second highest bid went to Ashlynn Luedecke from Clear Springs High School for her Grand Champion Lamb, which was sold to Katie Garczynski for $10,000.

Overmire Consulting Group was the top buyer of the night with $16,400 in purchases.

New to the show this year was the introduction of the CCISD Technical Education Program Manager and Show Chairman, Elisa Infante. She joins CCISD after nine years as a lead agriculture teacher in Houston ISD.

“Starting in my new role and getting the chance to experience my first CCISD Livestock Show during my first two weeks was such a great way to jump right into this position,” said Infante. “One of my goals is to work towards building a larger community presence which I hope will in-turn, increase our auction sales. I want to see what a “record-breaking” Livestock Auction in CCISD looks and feels like.”
