Second open house set for Old Townsite plan

Date:

by Nicole Bradford

A second public open house on Pearland’s Old Townsite Revitalization plan is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11.

The session will be held at First United Methodist Church, 2314 N. Grand Blvd., Pearland. The first open house was held in October.

Funded by the Pearland Economic Development Corp., the city contracted the $350,000 plan to the planning and design firm Olsson Studio in partnership with Baxter and Woodman and CDS Community Development Strategies. The plan will issue recommendations and address land use, transportation, parking, utility infrastructure, historic preservation, environmental planning, and safety.

During the community feedback portion of the plan, a survey drew more than 2,880 responses, and in-person events were conducted through the fall at locations such as the Farmer’s Market, festivals, public library, and Christmas parade.

A draft plan is expected to be completed in the spring.

To sign up for alerts for the plan, text OldTownRP to 888-521-3871.
