Academic Decathlon Team Wins State Championship

The Friendswood High School Academic Decathlon team secured first place in the Texas Academic Decathlon Frisco State Competition (Medium School Division) this past weekend, demonstrating both talent and determination. Competing against some of the best academic teams in the state, Friendswood’s students excelled in a rigorous series of tests, speeches, interviews, and essays. The team’s success is particularly notable given that seven of the nine members were new to the Academic Decathlon program this year, making their victory a testament to their hard work and dedication.

In addition to the team championship, students earned 16 individual medals and a total of $11,750 in scholarship money.
